I used to have YouTube Premium.

The main reason for paying for it was that I don't like having to sit through ads. A nice benefit of Premium over ad-blockers was that a part of the revenue from YouTube premium goes to creators in lieu of advertising revenue. YouTube gets money for running the service, the creators get money for making videos, and I don't have to watch ads.

I stopped my Premium subscription not because it was getting too expensive, but because YouTube is an American company. Ever since Trump got elected for a second time I have been progressively working on cutting out products and services by American tech giants from my life, and YouTube Premium was a very easy one to cut out.

These days I just use an ad-blocker. If the creators want revenue from my view, they can upload to a platform that isn't YouTube.

The dumbphones being released now should all work on modern networks. The connection being 4G / 5G doesn't mean the phone must have an internet browser and an app store.

That's when you acknowledge that you are both walking in the same direction and that it's a bit silly. And then you say goodbye again when you split ways

That's why he's starting now, so that he can actually ride his work elephant by the time he is able to get his elephant licence.

Luckily software like Teams has noise cancellation, so keyboard sounds generally get filtered out.

If they take issue with you disliking Musk (since I presume that is the political belief you are talking about) then maybe they are not great company to keep.

The first time I saw a black person as a kid, I was staring.. as young kids do.. The guy notices and engages by showing the palms of his hands and saying something along along the lines of "Look. Not all of my skin is black."

Apparently that scared the crap out of young me

My mom still likes to tell that story sometimes

They only have three models of laptop. The Framework 12, 13, and 16

Within each model they might upgrade the specs, or change some things around, but there is no break in compatibility from generation to generation. If you buy a Framework today, (assuming they don't go bust) you will be able to buy the upgraded parts a few years down the line and slot them into your existing laptop.
