Are they not saving on cocoa enough already? I can buy solid 70-90% chocolate for less per weight than a Mars bar. They also get to cheap out on all the filling of it being sugar.

Most of my managers have been the second type, although how effective they are at it has varied a lot. Some are very passive and that has been good and bad, being left alone is great when things are going well. But when you need help they are useless.

The best have been the ones that know a decent amount about the job, they can either help you directly or know exactly where to point you for it. That or they understand the pain and you can both cry together for 4 days with a SQL database and increasingly vague error messages.

Quit my last job over being asked in once a week. It was the commute rather than the office that I really wanted to avoid but it was also an awful open plan hotdesk office for a company of hundreds of people I didn't know or care about.

New role is office based but I don't need to drive or take public transport and teams have their own rooms to work in. Much smaller company too, under 30 people. Banter is far better here and that helps quite a bit.

How doesn't this also encourage the same dishonesty? Claim to not have a phone, or have a spare.

Yeah, schools are going to have loads of supplies delivered in boxes that could be reused.

Banning sexual assault, bulling, rape and pedophilia doesn't work either. Source: my secondary school.

FF3 can be bought for under £200 second hand and that doesn't suck. FF4 if you are lucky may fit into that price range too.

If you are looking for budget phones, get a FF3/4 second hand. That is what I did and its great.

Biggest problem with mine is it keeps smacking into walls and doors in my pockets when I walk around the house. It's so big, often falls out my pockets too.

Probably more of a problem with my pockets tbh, but its all my shorts.

Googling things a bit faster, but now all the sites it is searching are AI generated.

Things are great, but I live in the UK where minimum wage is high, food is cheap and I couldn't afford to learn to drive in my teens/early 20s so I don't need fuel!

Housing is painful, but at least inflation is reducing the number of hours I need to work to cover my mortgage payments each year. Very approximated, my monthly housing costs each year since I bought would be 105, 95, 87, 81, 78 hours of work to pay for at minimum wage. I would love to see house prices continue to stagnate so that buying a house gets easier with inflation dropping their price relative to wages.
