You guys get so many interesting alerts. They really use it for a missing kid? Its just tsunami warning, rain warning or smoke warning for us.

Yes they are. Samsung and SK hynix are building 4 new fabs I'm Korea 1 in the US. Sandisk and kioxia are building extra capacity in Japan. Micron is building new fan in the US. Its nearly a trillion in investment for additional capacity. These are expected to hit the market in 2027 and 2028 with lag to backfill demand.

Chinese ram will be good but not good enough to block it. Business will keep buying the high preformance stuff and consumers can have the cheap modules but they buy so little it won't affect anything.

There is so much over investment in memory its going to be dirt cheap again in 2028

What a great title

The open models are good enough. We will at least have what is available today and thats enough for most use cases. Deepseek v4 is dirt cheap and its really good.

It doesnt seem like anyone is going to make a massive leap since theyre all training data and compute bottlenecked.

I'm so blackpilled on the average person. These stats mean nothing because the average person not trusting a tech company does absolutely nothing to push them away from it. 80% distrust AI but 50% use it and the stat is growing.

Getting "hacked" via clicking a link and discarding the response is so extremely rare. It would require stringing together some of the most prized zero day vulnerabilities. There is just no world where someone would run that kind of attack on a google ad in the current year.

Oh I misread sorry

[–] Fizz@lemmy.nz 1 points 1 week ago

Hes right. I lurk places that arent anti AI and apparently its gotten insanely good this year and insanely cheap. I have no idea how any one is going to make money off this race to the bottom.

No I think that quote is attacking AI haters. Hes saying the people who say ai code has issues should look in the mirror because so does theirs.
