Fortunately I don't have this problem on any of my personal machines because I formatted all my Windows drives and migrated everything to Linux, which has been a far better experience. Running Bazzite on my gaming machine and Mint on my general use laptop. Also SteamOS on my handheld. Would recommend.

Lemmy, Mbin, PieFed, etc, are literally just forums with voting. In fact, even some old PHPbb stuff had voting. If you think forums aren't social media, I have news for you...

It has the potential to be, but it needs more communities and more people working to grow them into active places.

Buddy, we're on one right now.

I visited Meta's metaverse on the day it was supposed to shut down. I ended up in a horribly designed car park with no cars, for a restaurant that can sell no food in c/technology@lemmy.world
