It was never a secret: it’s still the Mechanical Turk, a historical model that, for example, the Amazon company of the same name is based on—and such services are part of its business.

A friend of mine had six wisdom teeth. Does that mean he's especially wise or especially judgemental?

That's absolutely right; the only problem is that those chief-idiot are so rich that they control most of what the Internet means to the vast majority of people.

That's just how people are, unfortunately, as evidenced by the fact that platforms like Twitter or Reddit, for example, are still used by the masses.

Every Bond villain worthy of the title should have a diabolical plot worthy of respect.

In Die Another Day, Gustav Graves ingratiates himself with the West, constructing a satellite named Icarus without the authorities realising that he is actually developing a space-based superweapon. Ostensibly, Graves has developed the satellite as a means of ensuring that crops can be grown year-round, bringing an end to starvation, but the truth is far more sinister: the purpose of the satellite is to provide North Korea with the clout to become a superpower, if not to actually dominate the world.

In other words: Now that he’s no longer getting any money from Google, he’s suddenly upset that no one is visiting his site anymore, because most of his former visitors now find the answers to their questions directly on Google—the very company to which he sold all of his website’s content.

Well, he could have figured that out sooner. What a moron—but hey, he’s already pocketed the money for all the content he stole from his own users.

It’s a good thing Aaron Swartz doesn’t have to witness all this, especially since the greediest of all corporations are now raking in money with complete impunity for the very thing he was supposed to go to prison for years—even though he had no intention of enriching himself at all.

There isn't much luxury in a car that annoys you with ads, is there?

But hey, maybe there's an extra-super-luxury subscription that lets you turn off the ads. You know, like YouTube Premium or something, except that the free version already costs several tens of thousands of dollars.

It's a win-win: insecure rich guys can feel superior again and BMW gets $.

Yeah, looks like it.

Thanks. Yea, it seems I didn't take some sensitivities into account in my comment, judging by the downvotes it received. It was by no means my intention to upset anyone; I simply wanted to express my belief that it's a good thing to treat each other with respect and show understanding for one another, even if that can sometimes be difficult.

At least for me, this has always worked pretty well in relationships, which is why I thought I’d recommend it.

Yes, "It's me or your video games" strongly suggests, in this fictional scenario, that it's by no means the first time this issue has been brought up. Even if that were the case, however, the reply by the guy would be arrogant and selfish, since it ignores his partner's needs instead of respecting them.

I’ll do anything for you, Mr. Bigglesworth.

Lately, a cat from the neighborhood has been stopping by my place a lot. The first thing it usually does is jump up on the counter—I don’t mind that the little guy takes his liberties. I’ve already moved everything out of the way that could be dangerous or break, and I just give it a quick wipe down once he’s had his fill. That way, we have a tacit agreement that the counter is fair game....
