Reminds me of a joke.

Berlin, 1944.

A middleclass bar in a quiet neighborhood.

First guy sitting at the bar is crying; next fellow is pulling his hair out; next is giggling madly; next is just downing shot after shot after shot; next is just staring off into the void.

After a little while the bartender shouts, "Gentlemen! For the last time, no talking about politics!"

Fuck me with a yellow spoon!

I literally did not realize that this was the same actor in Widow's Bay until I saw your comment.

Funny thing.

the creator was interviewed and he pointed out that they never explicitly say that the hero is anything in particular.

He could be a lawyer, or a scientist, or an economist.

I literally had this happen with 'The Americans'

After seeing 'The Diplomat' I wanted to see something else with the same actress.

Watched all seasons pretty much back to back

If you're going to watch something from the 1960s watch this.

The Prisoner is still being watched and talked about today.

Pretty wild that same actor also played Private Pyle in Full Metal Jacket and the bug alien in Men In Black

This is what our failed economic polices has lead us to!

Boomers routinely got a dime or a quarter from relatives for just showing up and giving aunts and uncles a hug. In 1960, you could get two comic books and a candy for 25 cents. A family reunion was an occasion to achieve untold riches.

These days there's less hugging, less loot and less happiness all around!

I can't remember the name of the novel.

It's a horror / thriller set in the Edwardian Era. There is torture, mutilation, cannibalism, human sacrifice, and plain old murder.

The writer felt compelled to give a trigger warning because of some bad words.

Educate yourselves.

A crazy architect talks a dim bulb into building a house based on a tesseract.

High jinx ensue.

Trump Tower went up in 1979. It was controversial because Trump had promised to preserve the original building's façade and then demolished it. He also employed illegal immigrant workers and treated them so badly that they won a massive judgement against him.

A couple of years later, DC comics decides to do a reboot of Superman.

Before then, Lex Luthor had always been presented as a hard core criminal. He usually wore prison greys and used abandoned buildings for his hideouts. He hated Superman because Supes had caused one of his experiments to go awry and left him bald.

In the new comic, Lex was a billionaire before Superman appeared. He had a beautiful head of hair, and slowly went bald as plan after plan to kill Supes failed. He only hated Superman because Kal-El made him feel bad about himself.

Serious.

Put up a world map in their room.

First it teaches them colors and shapes. Then numbers and letters. Then history and science.

When they walk into kindergarten and the teacher sees they know things like directions and what the word 'island' means, they'll be the favorite pupil.
