Prior to and including IPO they have been on quite a marketing kick. Referral schemes, equipment rentals, discount plans for low usage etc. Seems like they’re trying hard to make the business make sense. I maintain that LEO (and WISP) ISPs should be limited to more extreme applications yet I see them all over the place in residential areas. Their technical achievements are impressive but if phone systems to remote areas were possible, then so should fibre optics.

Also this should be built by international organisations, not billionaires. A plague on Musk and a plague on Bezos.

Content farm “articles” are difficult to distinguish from AI.

It’s a good idea, if the dam faces a good direction (North probably isn’t worth it) even without the additional benefits of altitude.

Avoiding legal liability. Increasing sales.

Midterms were take home, honorable closed-book; final was in person.

Of the 89 students who did the midterm exam, only 59 showed up for the final one. And of the 27 who did not show up, 22 had scored a perfect 100 in the midterm exam.

It seems to me that it’s important for those 22 to be expelled permanently for academic dishonesty. The president of Harvard was kicked out of the position when it came to light that she had “plagiarized” herself. This is far more egregious.

Idk some people like going to work without pain.

For me cannabis is an incredibly strong depressant. I can feel suicidal for free with pain, thanks.

I don’t think these are the same people, to be fair.

There’s a lot of knowledge about how to build a car that doesn’t apply to EVs. Similarly there’s a lot that does and it will take a while to sort it out. cybertruk is a good example of what not to do on many levels while charging a premium

I’ve got a bad feeling about overall repairability. Glue and potting used throughout.

Well, work machines have increasing counts of security agents. Mine has three and I’ve seen more. Plus Teams which uses enough RAM to run a proper OS all by itself.
