The implementation about to be done is actually just another smaller step to trying to be completely locked down.
In the same way you have to go and allow developer options to install apks outside of the play store now, this new thing will take you a couple more clicks to enable it and have a one time 24 hour waiting period before you can install whatever you want.
I'm there with you... But pretty much anyone under the age of like 32 isn't going to have a clue about that.
Question to anyone who was buying ps5 discs:
When was the last time you even bought a game on disc that didn't need a download to fix a critical issue right away? Cause it seems like they ruined disc ownership like since PS4 times.
I mean, they really won't, since the old people are the ones who always vote. I'll be dead by the time any of today's school kids are in charge of anything and the teacher lesson plans, or no kids left behind aren't going away any time soon. if you can't teach your own children a sense of morality, you don't even deserve to have a say in this discussion.
Morality and such isn't really a teacher's job.
Besides that, "between no kid left behind" and government testing standards that are tied into funding, teaching a turned into a generic lump of shit, and everyone gets to pass.
I was loosely guessing the year based on memory. But I think it was around then that they tried some music DRM shit that installed a root kit on your PC if you put the disc in it, and it screwed up a ton of computers. Caused major vulnerabilities and backdoors for other virus' and exploits and they got sued and government basically put a stop to their DRM tactics.
Well as I wrote this, I decided to look up exactly when this happened, and I was pretty far off. Time all runs together the older I get. It didn't happen until 2005.
Wrong line of thinking.
They want you to stop holding out and just buy their crazy high (along with everyone else) priced stuff so they move inventory and make some capital.
If their ram claim ends up true (I call bullshit) they make some sales and they go happily along.
If their claim ends up being false, they still made those sales and no one remembers or cares how "wrong" they were about it.
Saying this is basically a no lose guess for them.
They spiked way up pretty hard and fast the last 18 months. This is more of a correction after extras didn't pan out than a company going under. 4 years ago this time of year they were at $74. Right now they're $149. I doubt it will fall below $130 any time too soon.
This was made illegal decades ago on network and cable television. About time it circled around to streaming.
My laptop is Linux. My desktop is staying win 10 a while longer because it's compatible with a couple online games I still play every so often.
if you sell your games, sure. But I can play any game on any of my PS3 and older systems right now, right down to my 40 year old NES.
