I still hold that that was Grandpa Joe's swan song, kind of like people who are terminally ill suddenly have one day where everything's wonderful and beautiful and they're coherent, cognizant and they talk to people and have a good time and then the next day they're dead.

I imagine that within weeks of the end of the film he was dead, so we should let him have his last hurrah.
