It's the lack of extremism in the normies that's making me lose faith in humanity. If you aren't outraged, you're either one of the bad guys or you're too stupid to tell the difference, which is not practically any different from being one of the bad guys.

What the world needs right now is nothing but outraged extremists pushing on back hard on the Neoliberal status quo of the past 50 years by any means necessary and by every means available.

it's a very easy life when you can just discard every opposing view as a bot

[–] KurtVonnegut@mander.xyz 39 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Except all over the world "the normal people" are voting fascists into power.

[–] sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz 17 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Right, 4 day old account that immediately began posting images.

You sure you don't want to head over to asklemmy?

[–] time2lose@lemmy.world 1 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (1 children)

why? is that forbidden? I like to post and I post. lemme post more - im gonna rapid post dont be like reddit users - enjoy free memes and ask for more free memes ;)

[–] sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz 2 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Nah not forbidden. Go off, my guy. But remember diminishing returns

aren't ya a riddler? what does this even mean?

[–] sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz 1 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (1 children)

Sorry, I mean the more you post the less attention you get. People just lose interest if they see your username constantly but never in any discussions.

Also there's people like me who are just always trying to figure out who's using sock accounts and I obviously assumed the worst

[–] time2lose@lemmy.world 2 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

yeah very fair. thanks for the advise. I mainly going to repost from reddit. I hate reddit and my plan is to get as much content on lemmy as possible so I never have to use reddit again.

[–] rimu@piefed.social 2 points 18 hours ago

Yes, good goal.

However if Lemmy is flooded with posts made by a small handful of people it just looks like another bot farm. Try to post like a human - space things out a bit. If your Lemmy client app doesn't support post scheduling, consider using a different app.

[–] KurtVonnegut@mander.xyz 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Is that something bots do?

[–] sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Not necessarily posting images right off the bat. It's suspect but not certain. I was kind of being a dick there. But rattling off hot question posts in their first month on ask lemmy? Yeah that's 100% farm behavior

[–] Daxter101@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago) (2 children)

For the record,

• the burst-posting (3 images at a time),

• generic memes,

• account in one of the biggest instances,

• posting exclusively in the one main meme community,

• the post of a single political-pretending-not-to-be political meme (this one), and

• the exactly 2 comments made ever,

are all also very suspect, many bots act in this exact way, and then abandon the account for a couple months to let it age. It seems fishy to me too.

But it is very possible that it is just someone overenthusiastic, and new to the fediverse, so let's not take up arms, better to let a few bots slip than make real people bounce away I think.

Let's see at least if they respond, or abandon the account, to judge.

[–] sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz 2 points 20 hours ago

You're probably right. I'm pretty sure now I did this exact thing, like I wanted to make sure there was a post on both 196 communities every day.

Sorry for being hasty, @time2lose@lemmy.world.

[–] time2lose@lemmy.world 1 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

do you guys care? i like posting not commenting

[–] Daxter101@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago) (1 children)

Yeah, there is a pretty big number of new bot accounts all the time. They are most often used to post propaganda and reactionary bait, to tire people out.

That's a small part of the reason reddit went to shit, it's now more bots than people.

That's why you'll see many people here telling you to "act like a person". Most people here don't want Lemmy to be a place for us to just consume content. It's not about the memes. Whoever wants an unending stream of memes to pass their time, can just go to insta, and scroll to their hearts' content.

The memes and the posting, are sorta meant to be part of a discussion, like posting your opinion on things, via memes. What you say, is important. Like how the comments in this post here are saying, politically, that "normal" is actually "angry", due to where we are in the world right now.

Edit:

Just to make it clear in case I was being negative, you posting, posting anything, whether it's things people agree with, things that are just fun, or even things people might disagree with, is great!

Your mindset of bringing content in so the communities are alive, is very good! Just try to leave some time, for people to discuss the post in the comments. Talk about it with each other, make up their minds.

Think about it as if every post you make, is a room. You have to let people walk in, look around, talk to each other, and leave.

If you make an art gallery with 50 new rooms a day, people won't want to come see your gallery as much, because there's too much stuff, and not enough time to understand it.

[–] time2lose@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

I respectfully disagree. Majority of people are lurkers and commentators. Most don't create content. If there is no content they just go back to reddit. Memes community - yeah maybe there is already enough content, but others are just flat out 1 post a day, it's bad.

[–] PM_ME_VINTAGE_30S@anarchist.nexus 13 points 1 day ago (2 children)

*Tired Pooh again*: people "still being normal" implies that they are not reacting appropriately to an increasingly extreme real world meow-anarchist

[–] redkid1324@sh.itjust.works 2 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

I mean you can be outraged and stressed or let it be what it's gonna be

Both if you can afford it: make time to keep up with the world and the vile things the capitalists are doing, but also make time for fun and enjoyable activities. (I recognize that some people are not in a privileged enough position to do the latter.)

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 5 points 1 day ago

Which is normal for people.

[–] ThatGuyNamedZeus@feddit.org 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

lots and lots of bots engage with me. And then sometimes I get called a bot because I type properly all the time....I guess. That's the only reason I can come up with

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Use more em dashes -- they'll never believe you're not a bot

[–] mr_might44@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

Absolutely! What a smart Idea! Using more em-dashes – It's not machine, it's pure humanity. Just a person trying to leave their mark on the internet!

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Real people are mostly "average" and the average person SUCKS.

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

You dont notice the average person. The average person keeps to themselves and doesnt try and bother other people. Those you generally come into conflict are the ones those that buck trends.

[–] artwork@lemmy.world -1 points 1 day ago

Absolutely... of course... Thank you!
Meanwhile, please do stay safe, and I wish you success, stability, and peace!
