MODERATORS
I don't think they're bad, so much as bland. There is no real jeopardy, no real emotional connection. It's a sequence of flashy vignettes held together by a loose plot device.
This has been the case for blockbusters and action movies for decades. Superhero movies have just taken the fun out of the action sequences and made them an empty spectacle.
It was when literally everything no matter what people did in different ways just became dumb glowing light beams that were all bland and generic. That's when I completely stopped caring and dropped it entirely.
