Wild how Crunchyroll started as a piracy site, worked its way to becoming legal, and is now the very thing it was created as an opposition to.

I’m not sure that narrative makes sense. There wasn‘t really a thing it was opposed to in most cases. Not that I‘m aware of. There simply wasn‘t a licensed platform for Anime other than the few shows on less than a hand full TV channels, mostly at night. Early anime fansub sites simply did what anime studios or TV networks didn‘t care to do: Localizing a wide variety of Anime in the first place.

I don't need physical media, a DRM-free download that I can save on my own will do.

Nyaa is the sound a cat makes.

Out of spite I pirated the anime from the thumbnail

I enjoyed it, haven't watched the latest season.

OK, so I watched the first dozen episodes and its not bad. The animation style is a little wonky, the kids do not really look like kids, especially when close up

Sony? Doing something awful? Who'd have thought it?

I've already found what I needed while sailing on my ship. Sony can get fucked.

As did Madman in AU/NZ.
