Isn't it ironic, that it lacks irony, hence unexpectedly wraps back around to containing irony (about the lack of irony)?

This song is unironically ironic.
There are several different kinds of irony.
Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry - Be Happy" is sarcastic.
To me, it's clearly about stoicism.
"Ain't got no place to lay your head, somebody came and took your bed / Don't Worry, Be Happy!" Klarer Fall von toxischer Positivität. Er zählt lauter Beispiele für beschissene Situationen im Leben auf, in denen man sich ganz zu Recht bedrückt oder hoffnungslos fühlen kann. Der Ratschlag, sowas doch positiv zu sehen, ist irgendwo zwischen idiotisch, schädlich und herzlos. Der Song ist geil, aber falls der Text ernst gemeint ist (was ich nicht glaube), ist seine Botschaft auch dumm.

"Black fly in your Chardonnay" is only ironic if after a long day of gassing your house with Raid, tacking up screens, installing fly paper, putting all your trash out and deep cleaning every inch of the house to rid yourself of an infestation of black flies, you finally sat down with a cold glass of white wine to relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
That is my very favorite verse.
