I guess the intersection of people who use an adblocker and who are still active on Facebook is small anyway

Haven't used Facebook in... Probably over 10 years.

Since some groups refuse to move off of Facebook, I use an add on to force anything tied to Facebook to its own tab container on Firefox. This is in addition to tampermonkey, ublock, and like 5 other things. I still feel like it's not enough. They are a privacy nightmare, even on other sites.

Another reason to give up facebook. I've been off it for a decade.

Ads are more invasive than Zebra Mussels. We need to stop them completely! Is there even a gold standard anymore or is all economy everywhere resting on the wobbly foundation of advertising? That is, big guys making deals with other big guys to move their merch.

I would love to donate to ublock origin but the dev actively doesn't want money

this shows a quite horrible example for the other tech big dogs. if they throw a small group of devs at the adblocker devs, eventually they might also win this.

a seperated closed source facebook oriented fork would be the best idea, since the enemy can see every bit of code of ublock.

Ad blocking is done client side in the browser, it's impossible to hide.

You can obfuscate, but you can do that now.

That’s really unfortunate. Facebook today. Other large websites tomorrow.

That's awful! If I used Facebook I bet I'd be pretty upset.
