As of a few minutes ago old.reddit.com now seems to requre logging in to access it.

Shame as it was still the best place to browse for info about some niche interests.

Edit: Seems like they might be testing the change as it is hit or miss at the moment.

Edit: Adding this to My flilters in uBlock Origin seems to fix the issue for the time being:

Seems like I just got hit with it too today or yesterday, and it was being rolled out since about a month ago. Sad.

Still works for me. I use it without an account to browse /r/cars and /r/justrolledintotheshop because there's not really good Lemmy alternatives for those communities.

Might be an existing cookie that hasn't expired yet, or they're testing it on only some people for now.

I cannot confirm this. I call on old.reddit.com roughly once a day (whenever I want to see something on reddit) and it never requires login. Not today either.

Could this be a regional thing?
