Ah yes, Elizabeth Olsen, Marvel, that explains it.

Might sound like an empty phrase, but it's about playing, not about winning.

Another thing: how will they ever learn to play better if all you show them is how you lose? I've played against kids like that. It's sad to see how they cannot grasp that they aren't going to win this time. Worse: when they think that bending the rules* to their advantage is part of the game.

But there's a delicate balance, too. If the kid loses all the time they might lose the joy as well.

When I play with kids I always show them what good tactics look like but sometimes, when it isn't too obvious, I seem to "forget" things for one move. Never bend the rules* though. If we talk about rule-based games of course.

* probably much less possible with video games.

There was an excellent article about some woman who worked AI-related gigs. It was absolutely devastating. I wish I could remember the article. In USA btw, not Australia.

It was worse than "just" gig economy. Much worse.

The Emperor is a fan of Flock, and we must continue utilizing Flock technologies so that we can follow and surveil the rebel scum

I'm still glad they let the Chapman Stick go again after two albums. Bass & guitar is just better.

It's the Age of Self. There's no societal global problems, just happy individualism: surround yourself with good people, good food, do good workouts, listen to good podcasts etc. If you don't and feel depressed then, well, that's on you. You'll never get closer to enlightenment like this.

edit: I'm being deeply sarcastic. I know way too many people who really think like that. Of course that isn't me.

It's basically the "appeal to authority" fallacy only worse because Claude is neither an authority nor a provider of hard info.

We’ll pay you minimum wage

Not even: "We'll pay you, a contractor, a one-time measly sum to create IP for us. No royalties or anything so high and lofty for you, peasant, and certainly no job security."

King Crimson always did weird shit outside of expectations or genres, but this is one of their weirdest:

It's here I sit and rust amid this ruin and rancor
Like tire irons, toothy grills and car parts before me
The acid rain floods my floorboard
Burns my pores and rots my upholstery
Once I was worshipped, polished magnificently
Now I lay in decay by the dirty angry bay

I'm ready to leave
I wanna be out of here
I'm ready to ride away
I don't wanna die in here
I'm ready to ride

My skin is metallic now, no longer an elegant powder blue
My body unhinged and sleeping in the jungle
Of motor block manifolds and metal relics
What was deluxe becomes debris, I never questioned loyalty
But this dead end demolishes the dreams
Of an open highway

I think the bottom panel is supposed to be a padded cell like they use in psychiatric hospitals. So that's how silly they got.

IMO it's way too large, it looks more like a bare holodeck. Maybe they got so silly they made the holodeck crash?
