My guess: the first view you can see only the sign indicating a right turn in the road ahead. In the second photo, the road curves left instead.

Looks like there's still a right turn there, but it isn't the direction the road continues.

That right turn has a mailbox next to it, so it’s a private driveway. Almost certainly the wrong sign was installed.
