I'd love to replay it but no matter how many mods I install the story's always the fucking same. exact same problem I had with DOS2; adding legendary items made the gameplay more fun but ultimately same conclusion... think I need to wait years between modded playthroughs so I can enjoy the story again (or try the roguelike mod)

The overall plot, there is a worm in your head and you need to stop the BBEG from invading the city and killing everyone doesn't change, no.

The stories with the individual characters change dramatically based on your choices. That's the main reason I kept playing through it. Needed to see what happens if I let Gail have the crown, needed to see if I could save Karlach. Wanted to let Lae'zel take the lead and see what happens. What if I'm the dark urge but don't want to be? Lots of different small stories.

The problem is, I nailed it the first time so it’s hard to change the story meaningfully without ruining it. Tried to do a dark urge playthrough, and

Tap for spoileralmost immediately, my friend ate Gale.
I can’t live like this.

yeah that's totally fair. there's a lot of intricate details and I love Larian for that, but none of them are significant enough to make me play another 100-hour campaign where everything else is the same.

it's a flaw with me, not the game; I just hate doing the same thing over and over, which is why I can't get into FromSoft games.
