I solved that by simply thinking of it like a generic SciFi/Fantasy movie that coincidentally had some overlapping names with Nordic mythology

I tried to do that too. I failed to, though.

True. Chris Hemsworth has been good in exactly two movies, (as a hilarious himbo in Ghost Busters and as James Hunt in Rush) and Kat Dennings doesn't get enough screentime to improve the movies beyond "bad to mediocre" quality.
