As I said repeatedly, if a store asks for a phone number for a rewards number, use this with the local area code. You will be surprised how often it works.
I usually just say I don't want to give out my phone number. It usually works but it short circuits the cashier's brain
True but giving a phone number often gives discounts... Giving a fake number like 867-5309 doesn't compromise your privacy at all.
