i think you mean the store she bought it from refunded you the difference.
many retail outlets have 30 day price guarantees, sometimes 90.
Nobody was buying NES systems direct from Nintendo.
back then they did, I doubt any have it now.
Hell, walmart wont even price match its own website... and like or hate walmart, thats the cheapest place in town to get shit so thats where most people, especially in this economy, will be shoppin.
it's not super common but a couple times a year i will buy something and the price drops a week or two later and you can contact them to get a gift card for the difference. you aren't going to get in in cash or credit in 2026 though. it's 30 days from date of purchase for all the places i have done this for.
