There are couple of problems with EVs:

  • they lack any aesthetic (at least vast majority), they look like a toy or a modern appliance, plastic and cheap
  • they feel like 'go from A to B', soul-less
  • they have a constant uplink to a cloud with telemetry of my every move and every fart with no option to opt-out
  • no fucking physical buttons (some of them are just now pulling they head out their asses and reverting the design choice)
  • expensive, paying premium price for cheap feel
  • we don't really know how (un)reliable they are (there are a lot of new brands and new models)
  • infrastructure not ready in a lot of countries, and if you're living in an apartment building without a parking garage or charger nearby you're fucked

Other than that, yeah, they might be superior to an ICE cars.

Ps. I wouldn't be caught dead in Tesla. Fuck Mussk
