It's all unnecessary. Cold have just said "we're exercising our option" without all the ethical criticism.

IMHO, if you have that many enterprise clients, you can’t just nuke product support without a press release that explains the rationale. It’s safer to explain the reasoning and as the last few sentences indicated, help them transition to a new IDE that works with your product.
