Original Amazon was such shit that I don't understand how it caught on. Who just buys a book without reading any of it at all first? How do you know if it's any good? It's like people who save themselves for marriage.
I first used it as a place to sell my used college textbooks.
They used to deal a lot in used books. Bought a lot of my textbooks there.

Honestly, I was in early on buying books from Amazon. It was one of very few places I could find affordable college text books in the early 00s
Like I tend to, but I'm also one of those guys who broadly sticks to one or two authors and weird imported books on top of that. You try finding Youjo Senki and Metro 2033 at a bookstore or even library in my region, because I've fucken tried.
