my guess is the footage leaks will cost rockstar $0.00 in sales, and might actually make more people buy it than if there were no footage
it's rockstar's own shitty behavior that will cost them sales
They're claiming they've got the entire source code include latest build, and will happily release the source via a deadman's switch if their demands are not met.

There is zero chance it will be released (even if it's true)
Other way around for me: if it's true, ransom or not it will be released. I just don't think it's true
