That also gives you several other informations:

  • If Discord can read the device ID, every other website or program can?
  • If Discord can't and courts are forcing Microsoft to give out that data for Take2 to correlate IP adresses or other data, that is also really bad

So the only solution is to get the fuck away from everything Microsoft.

mostly agree, but I think it might just be the Discord program that has access, not websites

Edge gets it from Windows and sends it to the websites.

Google was previously caught doing that with Chrome.

Did you read this article? This has nothing at all to do with windows ID.

This is just chrome collecting data on you while in incognito mode. Which is sort of obvious that they would.

We don't have proof of Microsoft doing that with Edge specifically. But that's academic because we already know that Microsoft uses GDID to track website visits:

Microsoft’s records showed that at that exact same minute, a Windows device carrying GDID g:6755467234350028 had visited the ngrok signup page.

Whether it does it with Edge or the system HTTP libraries or whatever it really doesn't matter, what matters is that they do.
