Normal people couldn't figure out the "mail merge" function of their 1980-era word processor, and haven't figured it out since.
What an addoly written article. It reads like satire. I don't think it is. But it reads like it.
I feel like I got so little substantive information from reading that.
I've always argued that vertical integration is the only way you'll make LLMs somewhat accepted and useful. The article is making the same point. Having a virtual girlfriend like in "Her" isn't appealing to the average person, but certain results achieved by an agent without seeming like the BS output of an LLM may be seen as useful.
Just curious, do any of you think AI would be more popular if someone was offering as a physical product? As in instead of data center and paying a company to use their model, you pay for an in home server with some sort of base agentic LLM preinstslled that you could then train to your specific needs.
I think we just (rightfully) lost faith in tech products overall by now.

Replace politicans, CEOs and lawyers with AI first...
If all a President has to do is write stupid social media posts I think we found the best starting point
