I’d take it over an RPM gage.

Depends if it has a manual or automatic transmission. In a manual, I really want a tachometer.

I never look at the RPM gauge in a manual, just drive by feel and sound. But no doubt it'd be useful if you're doing off-road driving?

You receive a fine, open the letter and it tells you that you were driving 20 km/h over the speed limit

"Oh shit, i thought i was goin at 50km/h, well under the limit!"

I'm a bit confused, we're talking about RPM not speedo?

Oh my bad, i mistranslated tachometer lmao

Though once you have been driving your manual for a while, you can get a feel for the speed from the engine sound and knowing what gear it's in. Or even from the throttle level equilibrium is at and how much of an incline you're driving on at that equilibrium. And probably also from just getting used to how fast things come at you at various speeds.

Not that I'd give up the speedo but checking it is more of a confirmation thing than a real lookup.
