Happy to see it. I would love a new platform to show up and replace reddit. I dont think its going to be Lemmy but something where the creators actually care about great discussions rather than money.
The challenge is moderation of course.
I don't honestly think reddit was any better than the old bulletin boards which themselves were just a variation on usenet newsgroups
any large site is going to end up in corporate control, that's the sad and honest truth
There was initial good curation on the frontpage, and by that I mean it wasn't product placements and right-wing or divisive narratives being pushed. You'd see people making sweaters or doing woodwork, an actual worldwide community of people building trust.
Lemmy is good, but it has no frontpage and suffers greatly as a result
