Ok, how the fuck do I use asterisks without Lemmy thinking I'm itallican?
You gotta put a \ before the asterisk to cancel out the mark-up, like this: \*
(I used a second \ to cancel out the usual effect in the example. Fun fact, that cancellation is why the "shrug emoticon" sometimes loses an arm.)
I love markdown and stuff but also I'm sad I can't use "carat underscore carat" happy emoticons anymore because it mangles them lol.
