Not OP, but my wife and I were incredibly disappointed by Interstellar after seeing how much praise it got.

SPOILERS BELOW!!!

First off, the pacing was waaay too fast. I felt like I was getting whiplash from how they spent like five minutes in each location. I hear people complaining about the long runtime (like the other comment that was just posted, lol), but I have exactly the opposite problem - I think this movie really needed like four hours to do everything they tried to do right.

The biggest failing for us, though, was how ridiculously terrible and inaccurate the science was, from start to finish. From little things like needing a full multi-stage booster system to break earth's gravity, but being able to effortlessly jet off the ocean planet with no help, to absolutely bonkers ridiculous stuff like just casually going beyond an event horizon without getting spaghettified in the process.

So yeah, valiant attempt, a couple of really cool story ideas, and some good (but overrated) cinematography, but, while I wouldn't go so far as to say I hated Interstellar, I would absolutely say that I didn't like it, and that it was actively painful to watch.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

And you're intentionally avoiding the question.

I think I've had enough of you purposefully misconstruing and dodging me when I've done my best to be genuine.

I don't think our conversations in the future will be this lengthy - I've finally internalized that nothing I say will make you see the harm you're inflicting.

It was personal for the person who originally posted it. Would it have been ok for Laurence to post the same meme if it said "big boy pants"?

Also, I've seen the "venting" posts that get posted in womensstuff and elsewhere on Lemmy saying exactly the same sort of thing about men, both specific and in general.

Are they kind or positive? They get hand-waved as "just venting" and "healthy outlets". So, are venting posts ok or are venting posts not ok?

She's so close folks.

That the original OP clearly had a specific person in mind when making the meme.

My answer is the same: in exactly the same way that calling out perceived misandry can be considered misogyny.

I think that my downvotes are coming from people like you, zealous and well-intentioned but misguided and not aware of their own misandry.

I'm doing the best I can to push back against them as well - you just happen to be one of the most prolific commenters, so I see your comments most often. I promise that I'm responding to others too though.

Idk man it seemed kind of misogynist to me.

Lol, this couldn't be a more perfect response for you to have made after the last comment of yours that I read.

In the same way calling out perceived misandry is considered misogyny, apparently.

Again making up strawmen to fight. You're clearly continuing to intentionally misunderstand me, so I don't think there's much more I can say here.

Yes, what do you think all of the comments and downvotes you always get on your misandrist comments are trying to say? There's a stark difference in participation on your comments, in that the ones lifting women up are pretty universally upvoted and your comments tearing men down are usually controversial. We've been telling you for months, but you refuse to listen.
