You don't need bandwidth to switch streaming services and import your old playlists though. For example a streaming service like Tidal tags all AI music and does not monetize AI generated music.

And if you weant the music straight on your phone, something like Opus 128 kbps is already considered high quality (we have come a long way since mp3). Let's say your cousin has 20 000 songs. That's about 60 GB in that form, which fits on most mid grade/flagship phones.

It's not super hard to leave Spotify if you are willing to invest some effort.

Use Exportify (free service) to download his playlists from Spotify as csv files. Or use something like Soundizz (paid) to directly convert between platforms.

You can parse the csv files and use something like Soulseek to create an offline library. Compress to aac or opus so you can take thousands of songs with you on your phone, or use your own casting service on a raspberry pi.

ZIP encryption can be pretty strong, as long as you use aes-256 and not zipcrypt. AES256 had been supported for ZIP files since 2003, just not in the built-in Windows zip handling.

We are talking about legislative texts. These are the kind of texts that are interpreted in court. They don't specify details because they need to be universally applicable.

Let's interpret it like most would. A $50 replacement battery for a smartphone costing hundreds of dollars to replace does not deter repair and therefore is probably in line with the directive. A $50 dollar replacement battery for a $40 dumbphone does deter repair and such a scheme would therefore be illegal.

Absolutely not enough. The EU should increase the legal warranty period instead. Standard warranty should go from 2 years to 4 years. That will increase warranty cost for manufacturers, forcing them to make higher quality products.

Long, but not longest. Fairphone is longer.

According to the directive, software may not be used to block lawful repairs. But yes, they don't have to give away their intellectual property either.

This is also mentioned in the directive, and directives are legislative texts. The price may not be set so high as to deter repair.

WinUI framework was first released in 2011.
It is a native Windows-only UI framework commonly used with languages such as C++.

Worth mentioning that this export restriction was only enforced because of continuous pressure from the US.

Only if the hardware is recognized by MS and registered to be associated with your software. The software is signed so it can be traced back to you.
