Could someone eli5 why they are unionizing all of a sudden?

I get that unions are good for the workers and that they give better wotker representation. But a ship must be led by captain, not being actively undermined by its best mate so this gives me an impression that management did something BS that the workers/ volunteers disagree with all of a sudden.

Not sure Iif I understood it correctly, but consumer indices may already have bought overpriced shares

I think companies these days are more about valuation (how much people think they are worth) vs profit (what they actually earn). AI companies are loss leaders, yet vcs still fund them anyways. Paying them more money will just add to hype and valuation (eg "our XX service grew YY% which projects to ZZ potential profit")

A sign of the times? Possible lead in the bubble popping?

Already used in ukraine war, palestenian genocide rtc. See autonomous drones.

We should already be against AI but mainstream media and class consciousness are suppressed to serve our billionaire overlords

Depends on government policy also I guess. What would most likely happen is for US gov to continue sanction Chinese companies like what they did to cxmt and ymtc to stifle competition and keep prices artificially high

I mean it's easier now with agents and better sentiment analysis

No. The problem of AI is because of surveillance state, the end of personal computing, deep fakes, rising electricity costs due to data centers, and death of open knowledge.

AI companies would rather sell you intelligence to keep their bottom line and websites blocking archiving services due to AI (ex: internet archve)
